A trophy case alternative for schools that ran out of shelf space
The case is full, the overflow trophies are in a storage room, and nobody can read the engraving through the glass. Keep your favorite pieces on display and give every trophy’s season a story on screen.

What is a good trophy case alternative?
A trophy case alternative is a way to show a school’s trophies and the seasons behind them when the glass case in the gym lobby or main hall runs out of shelf space. With HistoryShowcase, schools photograph each trophy, give it a touchscreen profile with the roster, coach and story, and keep their proudest pieces in the case.

A full case hides more than it shows
Trophy cases fill up. New trophies arrive every season, so older ones get pushed to the back, stacked two deep or boxed in a storage room. The engraving is too small to read through the glass, and nothing explains which team won, who coached them, or why that small trophy from 1964 mattered so much.
A digital trophy room doesn’t replace the case; it finishes the job. Photograph each trophy, including the ones in storage, and give it a profile with the season, the roster, the coach and the story of the win. Keep your proudest pieces behind the glass, and let visitors tap through everything else. Band, debate and academic trophies get the same room as athletics.
How does a digital trophy case alternative compare with a glass trophy case?
| What matters | Glass trophy case | HistoryShowcase |
|---|---|---|
| The real trophies | Physical, polished and on view | Photographed, with the originals kept where you like |
| Shelf space | Fills up as seasons pass | Room for every season, including storage finds |
| Reading the engraving | Small text behind glass | A clear close-up photo |
| The story of the win | Rarely shown with the trophy | Roster, coach and game summary |
| Activities trophies | Share the same shelves | Their own collections beside athletics |

Trophy case alternative questions
Should we get rid of our trophies?
No need. Most schools keep the best pieces on display and photograph the rest, so nothing is lost and the case stops overflowing.
We don’t know which team won some trophies. What then?
Photograph them and add them to a “From the storage room” collection. Ask alumni to help identify them, then move each into the right collection.
Can we include non-athletic trophies?
Yes. Give band, debate, academic teams and robotics their own collections, with the same layouts and filters as athletics.
What do visitors see first?
Whatever you choose for the home screen. Many schools lead with championships, then let visitors filter by program and year.
