A robotics team display for every season and every robot you built
Each season your team builds a new robot and then takes it apart. Keep every one: the name, the build photos, the students who drove it, programmed it and wired it, and the awards it won.

What is a robotics team display?
A robotics team display is a school exhibit that records each season of a robotics program, including the robot built, the students on the team and the awards earned, often near the robotics shop or main lobby. HistoryShowcase gives each robot a profile with up to 100 build photos and credits every student by the role they played.

The robot gets taken apart every spring
A robotics season is months of work. Students prototype, machine parts, wire electronics, write code, test, break things and rebuild. Then the season ends, motors and parts get pulled for next year, and the robot that took the team to its best finish exists only in photos on a mentor’s phone. The build notebook goes in a cabinet.
A robotics team display gives each season a profile of its own: the challenge that year, the robot’s name, the build photos and how the team finished. Every student is listed with the role they played, so programmers and pit crew get credit next to the drive team. New members see what the team has built before, and sponsors see where their help went.
How does a robotics team display compare with banners on the shop wall?
| What matters | Shop wall banners | HistoryShowcase |
|---|---|---|
| Past robots | Parts reused, photos on phones | A profile per robot with build photos |
| Who did what | Banners name the team, not students | Every student listed with their role |
| Seeing the history | Mostly people who enter the shop | In a hallway and at a web address |
| Adding a new season | Hang the next banner after events | Add the robot once it has a name |
| Showing sponsors | Logos on the robot or a poster | Share the web address with sponsors |
What belongs on a robotics team display
Each season’s robot
A profile per robot with its name, the season’s challenge in a sentence or two and photos from first prototype to final event.
Build season photos
Up to 100 photos per robot, including the shop, the whiteboard sketches and late nights before competition.
The whole team, by role
Builders, programmers, electrical, drive team, scouting and outreach, each student credited for what they did.
Awards and finishes
Event results and team awards for each season, from the first qualifier to the final event of the year.
Mentors and sponsors
The teachers, parents and local businesses who mentored or supported the team, if they want to be named.
How to set up your robotics team display
Organize by season, because that is how robotics teams count time. A Pennant layout makes awards feel like banners in the shop.

How do you set up a robotics team display?
Pull photos from the team’s shared albums
Ask mentors and students for their best build and competition photos from each season.
Import rosters from your team records
Import a spreadsheet with one row per student, their role and season, or type the rosters in.
Publish before the next kickoff
Preview it privately, publish, then add the new robot as soon as it has a name.
Where should a robotics team display go?
- Hallway outside the robotics shopStudents walking by see what the team builds.
- Main lobby during open houseIncoming families see a program they may not know exists.
- Sponsor emailsShare the web address so sponsors can see the robots they helped fund.
Robotics team display questions
Can students help maintain it?
Yes. Add a student media lead or a mentor as an editor. They can add photos and results to a draft, and the coach publishes when it looks right.
We have years of photos in different places. Where do we start?
Start with last season. Pick the best twenty or thirty photos, add the roster and awards, and publish. Then work backward one season at a time.
Can visitors find a single student across seasons?
Yes. Visitors can search by name, and the roster collection can offer filters for role and year, so a programmer can see every season they worked on.
