A CTE student showcase for the work your pathways produce
Welded trailers, plated dishes, rebuilt engines and finished cabinets are hard to put in a trophy case. Photograph the work and show it by pathway, with the credentials and competition results students earn.

What is a CTE student showcase?
A CTE student showcase is a school display of work from career and technical education pathways, such as welding, culinary and health science projects, credentials and competition results, often at the CTE wing entrance or counseling office. HistoryShowcase gives each pathway its own folder, lets teachers add project photos as editors, and lets visitors filter by pathway and year.

CTE work happens in the shop, out of sight
Career and technical students build real things. A welding class fabricates a trailer, a construction class frames a shed or a house, culinary students run a lunch service, and health science students earn credentials before they graduate. Most of that happens behind shop doors at the far end of the building, and families touring the school may never see it.
A CTE student showcase gives each pathway a front door. Projects are photographed from start to finish and listed with the student who made them. Credentials earned are recorded by pathway and year. Competition results get their own entries. Eighth graders deciding on a pathway, and their parents, see what students actually do in each program.
How does a CTE student showcase compare with a shop open house?
| What matters | Shop open house | HistoryShowcase |
|---|---|---|
| Seeing the work | In person, up close in the shop | Photos from raw material to finished piece |
| When families can see it | On the open house evening | Any day in the hallway or by link |
| Large builds | Shown if still on site | Up to 100 photos of each stage |
| Credentials earned | Mentioned by the teacher on the tour | Listed by student and year for each pathway |
| Who presents it | Teachers and students in each shop | Each teacher edits their own pathway |

CTE student showcase questions
Can each pathway look different?
Each pathway has its own collection with its own layout, so welding can be a photo gallery while health science uses a ledger of credentials.
How do we show a large build project like a house?
Make the project one profile and add photos as it goes up, from the foundation through the finished build, up to 100 photos.
What should we publish about students and employers?
Your school decides. Work in a private draft, check placements with the employer, and only publish the names and details your school is comfortable sharing.
