What is a national honor society display?
A national honor society display is a school exhibit that records a chapter’s inducted members, officers and service projects, typically placed near the counseling office or library where students considering membership pass by. HistoryShowcase lets advisors keep every induction class in its own list, give officers portraits and profiles, and add each new class after induction night.

Your chapter has more history than a member list
Most honor society chapters keep their history in an advisor’s files: a spreadsheet of inductees, a folder of ceremony programs, photos on a retired teacher’s phone. When the advisor changes, some of that goes with them. The chapter that has inducted students for decades can struggle to name its own past presidents.
A national honor society display gathers it all where members and younger students can see it. Every inducted class has its own list. Officers have portraits and short biographies. Service projects show what the chapter actually did, from tutoring to food drives. Students considering applying see what membership means here, and alumni can find the year they were inducted.
How does a national honor society display compare with a framed member roster?
| What matters | Framed member roster | HistoryShowcase |
|---|---|---|
| Each year’s inductees | A new sheet added to the frame | A new folder for the induction year |
| Service projects | Usually kept apart from the roster | Entries with photos and a short description |
| Officer history | A separate list or group photo | Portraits and a few lines for each term |
| Who keeps it current | The chapter advisor | Student editors add entries; the advisor publishes |
| Alumni looking up their year | Visit the school and find the frame | Open the web address and filter by year |

National honor society display questions
Can we add this year’s candidates before they’re inducted?
Yes. Add them to a private draft and keep them there until the ceremony. Nothing appears on the screen until someone with publishing access publishes it, so your school controls exactly when names go up.
Can a student advisor or officer help keep it current?
Yes. Add helpers as editors so they can enter members and projects, while the advisor or an administrator keeps publishing access.
We’re missing records from the early years. What should we do?
Publish what you have and note the gaps. Alumni who see the display often know who served, and you can add them later.
