An interactive touchscreen display for schools that visitors actually explore

HistoryShowcase is touchscreen software, not a screen. Your school builds its site in a web browser, then opens it full screen on its own touchscreen, where visitors tap into collections, search names and read full stories.

What is an interactive touchscreen display for schools?

An interactive touchscreen display for schools is a large touch screen, usually in a lobby or hallway, that visitors tap to explore content such as a hall of fame, records or school history. HistoryShowcase is the software, not the screen: staff build the site in a web browser, and the school opens it full screen on its own touchscreen.

A touchscreen is only as good as what’s on it

A school puts a large touchscreen in the lobby, and then the question becomes what to show on it. A slideshow loops, a web page needs scrolling, and the screen ends up showing the bell schedule. Visitors touch it once, nothing interesting happens, and they walk on. The screen was never the hard part; the experience on it was.

An interactive display gives visitors something to choose. The home screen offers collections such as the hall of fame, records, alumni or school history. A tap opens a collection; another opens a full profile with a biography and photos. Visitors can search for a grandparent’s name or filter by sport and year. Your staff build and update all of it in a browser, with nothing to code.

What visitors can do on the touchscreen

  • Browse collections

Hall of fame, records, alumni, donors and history, organized into collections and folders the way your school talks about them.

  • Search any name

Visitors type a name and go straight to that person’s profile, which is often the first thing alumni try.

  • Filter by what matters

Each collection can offer up to two named filters, such as sport or award, plus filtering by year.

  • Open full stories

Every profile has a name, year, subtitle, summary, biography and up to 100 photos or media files.

  • Adjust the screen for themselves

Visitor settings on the touchscreen include larger text and reduced motion.

  • Take it home

The published site has its own web address, so the same stories open in any web browser.

Interactive touchscreen questions

Do you sell the touchscreen?

No. HistoryShowcase is software. It runs in a web browser, so you open your published site full screen on your school’s own touchscreen.

What do we need to get started?

A work email. Create an account, build your site in the browser, preview it exactly as visitors will see it, and publish when you’re ready.

Who updates the content?

Anyone you add by email. Team roles include owners, publishers, editors and viewers, and nothing goes live until someone with publishing access publishes.

Can it match our school colors?

Yes. The design editor sets colors, layouts, motion and atmosphere for the home screen, collections and profiles, with no code.
