A digital recognition wall for every honor your school gives
Your recognition is scattered: plaques by the gym, a donor board by the theater, the honor roll on a bulletin board. A digital recognition wall gathers it onto one touchscreen, with each group in its own collection.

What is a digital recognition wall?
A digital recognition wall is a touchscreen display that brings a school’s honors together in one place, such as athletic champions, academic awards, distinguished alumni, staff milestones and donors, usually near the main entrance or commons. HistoryShowcase gives each kind of honor its own collection and layout, and lets each office edit its section before a publisher puts it live.

Recognition shouldn’t depend on which hallway you walk down
Most schools recognize people in a dozen places. Athletic honors fill the gym lobby, academic awards sit on a bulletin board, donors are engraved by the theater, and retired staff hang in a frame in the office. Each display has its own style and its own person in charge, and most visitors only ever see one of them.
A digital recognition wall puts every group on one touchscreen while keeping each honor distinct. Athletics can use championship banners, donors an honors ledger by giving society, alumni a portrait gallery. Visitors can search for a name instead of walking the building. Different offices maintain their own collections as editors, while a publisher makes sure everything goes live looking consistent.
How does a digital recognition wall compare with separate plaques and boards?
| What matters | Separate plaques and boards | HistoryShowcase |
|---|---|---|
| Where honors live | Spread across hallways and offices | One touchscreen, one collection per honor |
| Finding a name | Know which hallway to check | Search across every collection |
| Look and style | Each made at a different time | One design, with a layout per honor |
| Who maintains it | A different person per display | Each office as editors, publishers approve |
| The originals | Physical and permanent | Photographed and added to profiles |

Bring each group in its own way
Import spreadsheets for long lists, type short ones in, and let Smart Add read scanned programs and suggest entries.
Give each office an editor
Add the athletic director, advancement office and counselors as editors; one or two publishers review and publish.
Where should a digital recognition wall go?
- Main entranceThe one place every visitor passes, whatever event they came for.
- Commons or cafeteriaStudents see classmates honored across athletics, academics and the arts.
- School websiteLink the published site so every honor is one click from your home page.
Digital recognition wall questions
Can different offices manage their own sections?
Yes. Add staff by email as owners, publishers, editors or viewers. Editors can draft changes; someone with publishing access decides when they go live.
Do all sections have to look the same?
No. Each collection can use its own layout, such as a pennant for championships and an honors ledger for donors, within one design that matches your school colors.
Should we remove our existing plaques?
That’s your call. Many schools keep plaques where they are and photograph them, so every name is also on the wall and easy to search.
How many collections is too many?
Keep the home screen to five or six top-level groups and use folders below. Visitors find their way more easily with fewer, clearer choices.
