What is a band hall of fame?

A band hall of fame honors a music program’s directors, drum majors, standout musicians and boosters, and keeps a record of each marching season, its show and its honors. HistoryShowcase lets the program give every ensemble its own collection, list leaders by year in an Honors ledger and give each season a timeline entry with photos from the field.

The band room has history too

The band room is full of history nobody outside it sees: framed show posters, a shelf of competition plaques, old uniforms in a closet and a list of drum majors taped inside a cabinet. The athletic hall gets the lobby. Meanwhile band alumni come back every fall for the alumni march, and they want to find their season, their show and the director who ran the field from the tower.

A band hall of fame gives the music program its own place in the building. Induct directors, standout musicians and longtime boosters, keep a ledger of drum majors and section leaders by year, and give each marching season an entry with its show title, honors and photos. Concert band, jazz band and winter percussion can each have a collection, so every ensemble’s history is easy to find.

Band hall of fame questions

Can we include color guard and winter percussion?

Yes. Give each ensemble its own collection, or add an ensemble filter to one collection so visitors can narrow the list themselves.

We only have show programs and posters. Is that enough?

Yes. Programs list the show, the members and the season. Upload them and Smart Add suggests entries with their sources for you to review.

Can it share a touchscreen with the athletic hall?

Yes. The band can be its own collection on your school’s site with its own layout, so it sits beside athletics instead of under it.
